“Kayu” of “Imo gayu” means rice porridge. We generally eat Kayu, when we need to eat something easily digestible. “Imo” of “Imo gayu” means sweet potato.
Recipe of Japanese rice porridge with sweet potato
- Cut the sweet potato into bite-sized pieces. And wash rice.
- Put them in the rice cooker. Almost all Japanese rice cookers, have a setting for rice porridge.
- Mix Japanese rice porridge with sweet potato, and place it on “Chawan”, which is a specific bowl for rice.
